On The Home Front
April starts with the Sun in pioneering Aries, your 4th house of home and family. This month will see a hive of activity with highs and lows and changes of plan. Dedicating more time to family affairs, improving family relationships, sprucing up the garden, renovating, redecorating and preparing for family members to stay over are all indicated. Real estate, rental accommodation, negotiations and contracts will be in the frame. Traditional values will be important. Your unconscious drives and early childhood training will surface. Memories will come flooding back, particularly when you pull out the family album, sort through memorabilia that you have hung onto and of course your ancestry roots. Be mindful that rebellious Uranus still remains in fiery Aries, and for many this signals disruptions to the family unit, family structure and lifestyle. A change of residence is in the wind. Your comfort and security zone will change, but this also allows you some form of freedom and independence.
The Goddess Venus retrogrades into your 3rd house on April 3rd, staying in Pisces up to the 27th, after you have put efforts into making your changes to your lifestyle and home decor. Venus then re-enters Aries on April 28th, when you’ll be back to harmonizing the domestic scene and adding your artistic flair.
Mercury also turns retrograde on the 9th in Taurus, your 5th house, reentering Aries on the 20th to fine-tune ideas, plans and clear misunderstanding. Mercury will return to your 5th house on May 16th. If there has been a lingering love matter to deal with, now is the time to consider your options and make peace.
From the 7th to the 9th, as energy builds up towards the Full Moon, you will experience an urge to do something with your career, yet balance home and family duties. There are those in authority that might oppose your plans, including your own fears of facing changes to your security zone. The 13th to the 15th may coincide with moving house and establishing a new life for some. Be open to new circumstances, for this can be a time of liberating chaos. From the 16th to the 18th, you’ll feel as though the world’s sorrows are on your shoulders. Take a break if you can and concentrate on important issues behind the scenes.
The Moon’s North Node will be moving out of Virgo and into Leo, your 8th house of sex, death and taxes this month. First the Mean Node moves on April the 29th, with the True Node following suit on May 9th. This will bring a sense of fated happenings with people that you meet, karmic events and people from past, or those who have a significant bearing on your financial picture. Deeper emotional desires, psychological fears and interests in the mysteries of life are indicated.
The Full Moon on the 11th comes in well-balanced Libra, your 10th house of career and ambitions. For April, it is often referred to as the Full Pink Moon from the herb moss pink, or wild ground phlox, which is one of the earliest widespread flowers to appear in spring in the Northern Hemisphere. Other given names include Sprouting Grass Moon, Egg Moon and among the coastal tribes as the Fish Moon because this was the time that the shad swam upstream to spawn.
This Full Moon marks a peak on your career path, where you have poured emotional energy into gaining recognition, success and satisfaction. Jupiter is on your mid-heaven, bringing optimism, rewards and positive outcomes and a good dose of just plain luck. Be careful not to overdo your good work by displaying an arrogant attitude in public. It will be just as important to find a balance between your career, home environment and family. Review your long-term goals and the progress you have made. Some of you will use this time to improve your lifestyle and residence but there’s likely to be replanning in the pipeline with Mercury and Venus retrograde.
On the 19th, the Sun moves out of Aries and into sensual Taurus, your 5th house of romance, creativity and speculation. Just what the ambitious Sea-Goat needs — a change of pace is as good as taking a holiday. Get ready for fun times, going to entertainment venues, recreational activities and spending an enjoyable time with children, loved ones and friends. Love will be in the air for eligible Sea-Goats as well as attached folk.
The 26th sees a New Moon in Taurus, your 5th house. Over the next two weeks this New Moon will have a delightful and sensual impact on your love life. Show your feelings to loved ones. Some will begin a new relationship, or commence a new creative project. You might even hear marvellous news of a child, pregnancy or forthcoming celebration such as an engagement or wedding. Your self-confidence and passion will be greater. Undergoing new objectives, physical fitness regime, and the social side of entertainment, pleasure and amusements are all in the picture for you.
Mercury remains in Taurus, your 5th house, but turns retrograde on the 9th. The Cosmic Prankster will draw your attention to the finer points of discussions with loved ones, trying to get creative projects off the ground, and smoothing over misunderstandings in messages. You’ll value mentally stimulating games, write love notes or poetry and explore the internet for artistic ideas, but this creative phase is likely to come to a temporary standstill while other priorities take hold. Plans for entertainment and fun activities for children may be delayed or changed. Social plans could be disrupted, delayed or cancelled. Make sure you check all information about booking arrangements and important engagements.
Mercury then re-enters Aries on April 20th, your 4th house of home and family. You will now turn back to negotiations on the home front, resuming discussions and going through old documents with family members, and fine-tuning real estate agreements, legal contracts, and possible removal van problems. Repairs and renovations may call for further attention. This time may be spent searching through memorabilia, photo albums and researching your ancestry. You will put some semblance of order into the household, settling disputes with relatives and overcoming concerns in relationships. You will be at an advantage as the Sun sends its energy into your 5th house of romance and love relationships. You may well regret sharp words that surfaced at the end of February or during March 23rd to the 28th, for they will be raised once more from April 27th to the 30th. Mercury turns direct on May 3rd in Aries, then moves forward to re-enter Taurus, your 5th house on May 16th, remaining in a shadow phase until May 19th.
Venus remains retrograde in Aries your 4th house before commencing the second part of the Venus retrograde phase in Pisces, your 3rd house of communication from April 3rd to April 27th. This is the time to be diplomatic. Show your charm and entertain people with interesting talks, which will defuse any emotional outbursts. The pace will slow down regarding interests in travel, going to places of beauty, creative writing, music and the arts. Give your writing a rest during this phase; avoid publishing and displaying art as they will lack popularity. Someone from the past could play an import part in your future direction.
From April 6th to the 25th, Venus and stern Saturn will be in stressful square aspect, with Mercury retrograde on the home front. Your emotions will be contained, and it will be harder to get creative projects underway. You may want to spend time alone, taking account of problems in relationships with family, neighbours and relatives. Meanwhile negotiations on real estate agreements or contracts will be delayed, which could simply be due to council statutory advice or purchasers changing their mind on a deal. After May 19th, things will be relatively back to normal.
Energy and Sexuality
Warrior Mars remains in Taurus, your 5th house. You will find your physical energy and sexuality intensifies. There’ll be no question about finding your mojo during this phase! You will attract romance with your ability to be suave yet magnetic. It’s a great time to take action with creative projects, or turn your overabundance of energy into sporting and recreational activities. Watch the children though as they are apt to get up to trouble and mischief. Avoid risky speculations. From the 5th to the 8th, you’ll have a surge of creative energy dear Cap! Use it to your advantage.
On the 21st, the Warrior moves into versatile Gemini, your 6th house of work and health. Your mental and physical energy will be considerably higher, and you’ll have the motivation to complete work tasks. Colleagues could find your pace a bit overwhelming, and there is a chance you will push yourself too hard. This is the time to control your temper, abruptness, frustrations and impulsiveness, as excess energy could create tension with work colleagues, or even the boss. Play it safe handling machinery, as accidents are right there on the list of possibilities. Your health may be problematic due to stress. Surgical operations are in the frame, together with a susceptibility to headaches, fevers, burns, cuts, and abrasions.
The Dragon’s Head and Tail
The Moon’s Nodes, also known as the Dragon’s Head and Dragon’s Tail, normally travel in retrograde fashion and are about to change signs. This is a big deal. The North Node/South Node axis is a karmic significator and is particularly potent just before switching signs. The effects of this change will be felt most strongly between the 10th and the 28th as the Mean Node transits the first degree of Virgo, your 9th house of travel, foreign affairs, cultural pursuits and the higher mind. It generates potential crises connected with these areas and thanks to the effects of the South Node in the first degree of Pisces, areas of local communication, education and transport. The Mean Node moves from critical Virgo into proud Leo on April the 29th, with the True Node following suit on May 9th.
The North Node retrograding into your 8th house of sex, death and taxes, and the South Node in your 2nd house of personal income for the next 18 months or so awakens karmic lessons encompassing overcoming possessiveness with money, and in relationships, jealousy and excessive sexual indulgence. It will be the time to understand the importance other people’s values and expand your own sense of personal meaning and ethics. If you feel as though you are constantly chasing your tail, wanting more, it will be hard to satisfy your urges if they lean to excess. Learn self-control and discipline regarding self-indulgence. You may hit rock bottom or an ending before you can start afresh with a different appreciation of your needs. Here is a chance to face your deeper convictions and psychological fears, including life after death and spirituality.
Head in the Clouds
This month begins with the Sun beaming in sensitive Pisces, your 3rd house of communication. It is a busy period for the Sea-Goats at this time of the year. You are full of ideas and wanting to express your thoughts, whether over the phone, in conversations or simply writing a note. There is the internet and mobile phone to keep you occupied, sending and receiving messages. Keep abreast with local news, chatting with neighbours, with short trips to make, the car to attend to, and daily tasks to take care of. Children may need your help with educational studies, or you might decide to do a short course or learn a language.
The Goddess Venus turns retrograde on March 4th in your 5th house, just when love matters and relationships are reasonably smooth. The home front will be a hive of activity, with highs and lows from March 13th to June 6th, thanks to Mercury and Venus enjoying retrograde phases in April. The 1st to the 6th won’t help as you will want to express your feelings on various topics. Your head is likely to be in the clouds, so try to remain realistic at all times and don’t believe everything you hear as it will only add to confusion. From the 7th to the 10th, with your ability to be organised, you’ll be in a position to communicate your ideas and take control of most situations. From the 17th to the 19th, news and a few private concerns could worry you needlessly. Remain positive as this will blow over in a few days.
The Full Moon on the 12th comes in Virgo, your 9th house of the higher mind. For March, it is known as the Full Worm Moon, as around the time of the Spring Moon, the ground begins to soften and earthworm casts reappear, inviting the return of robins and other birds. It is also called the Full Crow Moon, when the cawing of crows signalled the end of winter; or the Full Crust Moon because the snow cover became crusted from thawing by day and freezing at night. It is also known as the Sap Moon, as it marks the time when maple sap begins to flow and the annual tapping of maple trees commences. To early settlers, it was also known as the Lenten Moon, and was considered to be the last Full Moon of Winter.
This Full Moon will be calling for you to expand your mind through knowledge, as you widen your horizon through adventure, travel and experiences. However, it may not be as pleasant as you had hoped for because emotions, discussions and news may leave you feeling despondent. Restrictions and responsibilities, two words that the Sea-Goats know well, call for patience. Transport may be an issue, as mobility, trip cancellations and delays are in the frame. You might finish a study with a few disparities, or be unable to concentrate on an upcoming exam. This is a time when intense mental energy will be required to help in overcoming any emotional upsets. Communicating may prove difficult so it may be to your benefit to postpone any upcoming talks with authority figures.
On the 20th, the Sun radiates its energy from fiery Aries, your 4th house of home and family, on the eve of the equinox on the 21st. During the upcoming four weeks you will devote more time on your lifestyle, renovating the home, attending to repairs, real estate and property matters. You may want to start by cleaning out your closet. When the nooks and crannies of your house are in order, it is easier to pay attention to the needs of your heart. This also includes your psychological home as well as your physical one, so don’t neglect your soul. The 25th to the 26th will be a delightful time for family gatherings, entertaining at home and enjoying good company. Some Sea-Goats, will find redecorating an option.
The New Moon occurs on March 28th in Aries, your 4th house. Over the next two weeks your activities will revolve around improving family relationships, sprucing up the garden, or renovating and redecorating. Traditional values will be important; your unconscious drives, security, comforts and early childhood training are all in the frame. Memories will come flooding back, particularly when you pull out the family album. Why not sort through memorabilia that you have hung onto? And of course your ancestry! Some of you may move to a new home, taking charge of neglected areas with a facelift.
As the month begins, Mercury the Messenger remains in Pisces, your 3rd house of communication. Prepare to undergo a learning curve in view of last month’s Solar Eclipse, bringing significant changes in your line of communication. Keep your mind active by acquiring knowledge, taking a short course or studying a language. In all, it’s a busy time with day-to-day tasks, keeping busy on the phone and reading the latest news on the internet. From 12th to the 13th, with the influence of the Full Moon, you’ll be distracted with doubts, and withdrawing into a shell until problems are sorted out.
On the 13th, the Cosmic Scribe moves into Aries, your 4th house. This could coincide with a relocation, or discussing real estate agreements and bringing about new ideas to enhance the home. Perhaps you need to phone a relative that you have been out of touch with. Sort out old family documents, such as those recipes, photos and memorabilia. If you are half way through a property deal, make sure it is settled well before Mercury turns retrograde on April 9th. From the 23rd to the 25th it may be complicated getting your plans off the ground, balancing your career, long-term plans and family life. From the 26th to the 28th, they won’t call you sparky for nothing. Check up on your home insurance and stay out of disagreements with the family. Likewise, you’ll have more energy to think creatively, even to the point of discussing your religious and spiritual views. From the 29th to the 30th, any doubts that have arisen will be alleviated, allowing you to get on with agreements and plans on the domestic scene.
On the 31st, Mercury moves into sensual Taurus, your 5th house. You’ll be able to express your words of love to those dear at heart. Make sure things you say are not misconstrued and brought up at a later date, thanks to Mercury going retrograde next month.
This year on March 4th the love Goddess Venus will turn retrograde in dominant Aries, your 4th house of home and family, subsequently retracing her steps into Pisces, your 3rd house of communication on April 3rd (more on that next month).
The first part of the Venus retrograde phase happens in your 4th house from March 4th to April 2nd. During this retro phase, you’ll need to smooth over unexpected difficulties and arguments that will occur from February 21st to March 1st, thanks to Mars’ need for action and control issues that arise. Powerful and explosive energies emerge that will be difficult to suppress. You will not only have your home conditions disrupted, but family members could contribute to the mayhem. It may be your job to reconnect with family members and offer a solution. Your renovation and improvement plans could come unstuck due to your loss of interest. Real estate sales may not go as well as expected, or you could lose out on the prospective purchase of a new home. There’ll be sentimental objects and furniture to consider none of which you will be willing to offload. You’ll think twice about an antique, home wares, or selling your current home.
The God of War Mars remains in fiery Aries, your 4th house. This is the time to take more care around the home because your physical energy will be greater, as well as being speedy with your actions. Smarten up the garden, or do some work in the barn or garage. It’s also a time of accidents, falls and abrasions. From the 4th to the 8th, it may be time to work behind the scenes, clearing some of things that are no longer of use around the home. Avoid getting into disagreements with family members.
On the 10th, the Warrior enters sensual Taurus, your 5th house. There’ll be no excuse to have a headache, as the energy of lusty Mars will have the Sea-Goat somewhat feisty for several weeks, ready for romance and pleasure. Fire up your athleticism, go to the gym, and enjoy competitive sport where you can use your physical energy. Your magnetism will attract romance which will be exciting, but don’t expect gentle displays of affection. Passion and sexual expressions will command your attention. This is not the time to speculate or take risky ventures. Keep an eye on children as they are likely to get up to mischief.
From the 1st to the 18th, retrograde Jupiter opposes rebellious Uranus once again so changes and dilemmas over career options, ambitions, reputation and problems with authority are likely to arise. Your home and family life are all under the gun. Changes could affect your lifestyle, real estate and property. Opportunities may present themselves to move residence in line with a career offer, or other circumstances may force unexpected change. Either way, it will best to travel the middle road and take a moderate approach. Avoid risky speculations and gambling at this time.
From the 17th to the end of the month, Jupiter squares transformative Pluto. Your drive for power and motivation for success, recognition, acclaim and public acceptance will be greater. However, it will be a fine line between reaping rewards and losing your reputation. Make sure you don’t overestimate your ambitions, as it may not prove worthwhile in the end. Careful you don’t upset authority types, superiors, your employer and those in your profession. Legal conflicts could arise due to your public dealings.
