The term for astrology in Sanskrit language is ‘Jyotish’ which literally means light or the science of light and infers to the science of heavenly bodies and their influence upon life on Earth.
There are distinct differences between the Indian ‘Jyotish’ also called ‘Hindu astrology’ or the ‘Vedic astrology’ and the Western astrology. The Vedic astrology has greater depth and therefore more reliability as compared to the astrology used in the west.
