Exalted and Debilitated Planets in a Birth Chart

Some important information about exalted and debilitated planets which will help add more accuracy to analysis of a birth chart.

Debilitated Planets

Before declaring the probable results of an exalted or debilitated planet in a birth chart one must take into account the exact degree wise position (longitude) of the concerned planet.
Planets are fully exalted or debilitated only at certain longitude in the relevant zodiac sign.
Mere fact that a planet is exalted or debilitated is not enough to cause concern while predicting their results.

As that planet moves away from their points of peak-exaltation or deep-debilitation their tendency to give good or bad results respectively also diminishes.

Points of Deep Debilitation and Peak Exaltation for Planets

It also needs to be highlighted here that the astrological treatises give only exaltation and debilitation data about the seven physically existing planets there is no such authoritative information about Rahu and Ketu. However commonly believed signs of exaltation and debilitation for Rahu and Ketu are also mentioned in the table-1 below and these two planets are considered exalted or debilitated throughout these signs.
