Pythagorean and Chaldean Systems of Numerology

Pythagorean Numerology

There are two main systems for assigning the numerical values to the alphabets of English language.

The alphabets of the English language have been assigned numerical values in order to determine the Numerological vibrations of names. The Numerical values of alphabets are useful in finding a compound number as well as single digit number corresponding to a name.

There are two main ancient systems for assigning these numerical values.

The Pythagorean System: This system is based upon the works of the great Greek philosopher and mathematician who lived between 582 and 507 BC. An institution established by him taught esoteric knowledge which included the secrets of numbers and vibrations. His teachings were based on a foundation of mathematics, music, and astronomy. He emphasised that numbers influence everything.

The Pythagorean system of numbers for the English alphabet is given below in Table 1.

D,M,V

4

E,N,W

5

F,O,X

6

G,P,Y

7

The Chaldean System: The actual origin of this system is not truly known today. The ancient Chaldean and Hebrew alphabet were assigned numbers and later these were applied to the English alphabet. In this system the number 9is not assigned to any alphabet because those ancients believed that the number 9was sacred and only represented the name of God.Table 2 below displays this system:

Which System should be followed?

These days the science of numerology is very popular throughout the world. The choice of the system depends upon the Numerologist as both the above systems are in use. The author prefers the Chaldean system as he found in practice that this system gives more accurate and reliable results as compared to the Pythagorean system.

Anyway the choice is yours, so you can determine through your own experience which system to follow.

Example showing Results of both Systems

Just to show the difference, let us determine the single digit value of a name for example ‘NARENDRA MODI’

By Using the Pythagorean System: NARENDRA MODI
=5+1+9+5+5+4+9+1+4+6+4+9=62=6+2=8

By Using the Chaldean System: NARENDRA MODI
=5+1+2+5+5+4+2+1+4+7+4+1=41=4+1=5

Now it is quite evident that our current Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi carries an outgoing and friendly personality, which is more akin to the vibration of the number 5 than the number 8.
