Navratri is an auspicious time for resolving household conflicts and restoring harmony among family members. Here are Navratri remedies to help resolve clashes between individuals and remove negative energies from your house.

1. Remedy for Removing Conflict

If there are conflicts between partners due to differences in opinions, recite the following mantra 108 times while pouring ghee into a fire during Navratri. Additionally, chant this mantra 21 times every morning while worshiping. Ideally, both partners should chant the mantra together.

The mantra is:
“SAB NAR KARHI PARASPAR PRITI CHALHI SWADHARM NIRAT SHRUTI NITI”

2. Visit a Laxmi Narayan Temple

During all nine days of Navratri, visit a Laxmi Narayan temple in the evening and offer besan laddoos (yellow sweets) as prasad. This will help overcome differences between partners.

3. Visit a Sacred Place for Family Harmony

If there is a conflict among family members, plan a visit to a sacred place (Teerath Sthal) for peace and contentment.

4. Remedy for an Aggressive Partner

If your partner has an aggressive nature and does not give importance to your views, light a diya (lamp) at the roots of a peepal tree on the first Saturday of Navratri.

5. Remedy for House Unrest (Grah Kalesh)

To destroy causes of unrest in the house, create the sound of a Shankh and listen to or play the Gayatri mantra daily at home.

6. Remedy for External Influence on Conflict

If outsiders are causing disturbances in your relationship, take a handful of Rai (mustard seeds) from the first day of Navratri. Rotate it around your head and throw it in all directions while facing south.

7. Morning Mantra for Peace

After bathing early in the morning, recite the mantra ‘OM MITRAY NAMAH’ while offering water to Lord Surya in a copper vessel. This will remove all evils and create a peaceful atmosphere at home.

8. Remedy for Jealousy

If people are jealous of your happiness and harbor negative thoughts, place three Nazar Battoo (charms to ward off the evil eye) at the main entrance of your house on the eighth day of Navratri.

9. Remedy for Mangal Grah Dosh

If Mangal Grah Dosh (planetary imbalance) is affecting your life, offer 1.25 kg of Jalebi as prasad to Lord Hanuman on the first Tuesday of Navratri. Distribute the prasad to children the next morning, and eat a portion yourself.

10. Daily Aarti and Shankh Blowing

All family members should gather for the evening Aarti and blow the Shankh at the end. This generates positive energy, increases love, and strengthens the bond among family members.

11. Remedy for Bad Grah or Vaastu Dosh

If bad planetary influences or Vaastu Dosh are causing disturbances, light a guggul incense and apply it in all rooms of the house in the early morning. This will remove negative energies and bad omens from the home.

Delay in Marriage – Marriage is the most important institution in the world. Those who remained bachelors are devoid of many responsibilities in their life. From religious point of view religious rituals could only fructify if they are performed with wife. Performing them alone has no significance in Hindu religion, because one cannot pay his debts if unmarried. The festival of Navratras or sometimes called Navratris is considered very auspicious among Hindus and many other believers.The nine-day festival of Navratras in Hindu religion dedicated to the nine manifestations of Goddess Durga.

Navratras are celebrated four times in a year.

Sharadiya and Chaitra Navratras

These two Navratras are more popular and celebrated enthusiastically each year.

The most popular is the Sharadiya Navratras which begin on the first lunar date of bright half phase of the lunar month of Ashvin (September/October).

The Chaitra Navratras occur during March/April and also called Vasant or Ram Navratras.

Magh and Ashadh Navratras

These two Navratrasviz the Maghnavratras (January/February) and the AhadhNavratras (June/July) are observed only at certain places and are called Gupt or secret Navratras.

• Take an early morning shower, preferably before sunrise.

• Clean up the place of worship and decorate it.

• Spread a red cloth on an altar and establish the idol of MaaDurga

• Place PoojaSamagri on a plate; incense (dhoop), deepak, vermilion, fresh flowers, and bangles, bindi, red stole (chunri) and Prasad

• Sprinkle some holy Ganga Jalat each corner of your home (which will purify your house) and light up Deepak and incense.

• Now, chant the mantras for 108 times.

• After the mantra, recite the “DurgaStotra” and conclude with the Durga Aarti.

The Tulsi Vivah is celebrated on the Ekadashi of the Kartik Krishna Paksha and this year it is on 11th November, 2016.

How to celebrate Tulsi Vivah?

On this day people are arranging the marriage ceremony of Tulsi with Shaligram. Some people are doing this on a grand scale and arranging proper marriage of Shaligram with Tulsi.

Generally,people are wrapping the Tulsi pot with the sari and decorating the pot with the ocher (Geru), making the canopy by sugar cane, putting stole and other wedding accessories like bangle etc. to the pot. They are worshiping the Lord Ganesha first and then Lord Shaligram is worshiped properly with shodoshopchar. Thereafter, worshiping Tulsi with the “Tulsyaye Namah” mantra. After worshiping, people are taking a coconut with the alms in hand for the Teeka and then by taking up the the Shaligram and Tulsi they are taking seven rounds (fere) of the fire and completing the marriage ceremony of Tulsi and Shaligram.

The other marriage rituals are also followed as same as in other marriages. The ladies are singing the marriage songs and celebrating this festival with full of enthusiasm.
