Why Krishna was born in Rohini Nakshatra?

Lord Krishna, the 8th incarnation of Lord Vishnu and embodiment of divine Love and Joy could best express His divine attributes through the Nakshatra(constellation)Rohini only, here is how..

Rohini-Nakshatra

The time and place of birth is selected by the descending entity so that required astrological conditions help in accomplishing the pre-planned tasks.

Lord Krishna was an Avatar, which means a special highly evolved soul, which descended on this Earth to accomplish tasks related to reestablishment of human values and to curb the negative forces. In case of an Avatar the time selection becomes more important due to importance of various tasks.

Rohini Naksahatra and Krishna’s Personality

Rohini Nakshatra extends from 10o of Taurus sign to 23:20 of Taurus sign. This nakshatra is governed by the Moon.

Krishna was born with both his ascendant and the natal Moon falling in the Rohini Nakshatra.

The main deity of Rohini Nakshatra is Lord Brahma the creator. So for all affairs of this Earth this nakshatra becomes most important. In order for Krishna to take help of the Mayavik (delusive) force on Earth in order to accomplish many difficult tasks his birth in this Nakshatra was necessary.

Krishna needed a most stable, earthy and well balanced, honest, pure personality and only Rohini Nakshatra could give this. This Nakshatra gave Lord Krishna expressive big eyes and sweet voice with seductive mannerisms in order to get attention of people.

This Nakshatra gave Lord Krishna a special charisma for mesmerising those who would not listen to him otherwise.

Rohini Nakshatra gave focus and great perseverance in order to accomplish difficult tasks such as killing the ruler Kansa and many other demons.

Rohini Nakshatra is a Rajsiknakshatra so it gave lord Krishna an action oriented personality, yet due to His divine origin He remained pure as a lotus in a pond of dirty water.

Let us understand that Rajasik Guna if used with resolve can make one a true Karma Yogi(One who achieves union with God through selfless pure actions). Lord Krishna says in the Shaloka 7 of Chapter 3 of the Bhagvad Gita:

“yastvindriyanimanasa
niyamyarabhate ‘rjuna
karmendriyaih karma-yogam
asaktahsavisisyate”

“He who controls the senses by the mind and engages his active organs in works of devotion, without attachment, is by far superior”

It was only due to Rohini nakshatra that Lord Krishna’s life was a drama of esoteric romance in order to lure the wayward human souls back to the divine realms.

Planets Moon and Venus connected with this Nakshatra were responsible for Lord Krishna’s extremely attractive and sweet personality with polite mannerism.
