In the month of August First Pradosh Vrat is falling on 29th August.

In Pradosh Vrat, Lord Shiva is worshiped and fast is observed. This fast is obseved completely with no food and before the dusk (approx 72 minutes before the dusk), Lord Shiva is worshiped with Panchopchar and Shadoshopchar after bathing. The Shiv Tandav Strota and Pradosh Strota should be recited. Also, Shiva Pancha-hari Mantra should also be recited:

'Om Namah Shivaya'


After the recitation of the mantra, Pradosh Katha should be recited. At the end, serve food to Brahmans first and then take food.
