Significance of Thursday

This brat is done for peace and prosperity, marriage related problems and peaceful Jupiter. One should start this brat on the first Thursday of shukla paksh.

Procedures - People who are observing this brat should take bath and then wear yellow clothes Or yellow yashopavti. And then sit on an aashan and pray to Laxmi – narayan. Offerings to be made are:
Chane ka dal,
Ghee ladu

And then listen to or narrate Guruvar brat katha and pray to banana tree. Feed the cow with a mixture of atta, gur, haldi, and channa dal. Salt is strictly prohibited and one can have all foods without salt, which is yellow in color.

One can be committed to this brat for life or for seven Thursdays or for thirteen Thursdays consecutively.

For a peaceful graha one needs to chant the following mantras below for ATLEAST FOR 11 TIMES ON A 101 BEAD GARLAND.

The following items needs to donated to the Brahman couples besides feeding them: Grams, Gur, Ghee, Banana, Yellow clothes.
